Asthi Visarjan — immersion of ashes in the Ganga at Haridwar

Give your departed loved one a sacred farewell with an authentic Asthi Visarjan at Haridwar — performed by experienced pandits, with video proof, photos and a certificate delivered to you.
What is Asthi Visarjan?

Asthi Visarjan is the immersion of a departed soul's ashes (asthi) in the Ganga, believed to bring peace (moksha) to the departed. When you cannot travel to Haridwar yourself, you send the ashes to us and an experienced pandit performs the immersion on your behalf, taking sankalp in your name and gotra. This is ideal for families abroad, elders unable to travel, or urgent requirements.

How it works
1. Book & share the ashes

Complete the booking, then send the asthi (ashes) to us by courier or arrange collection. We share the exact address and safe-packing guidance right after you book.

2. Share the departed's details

Give the name and gotra of the departed soul, the date of death if known, and your name and relation so the sankalp is made correctly.

3. A pandit is assigned

An experienced Haridwar pandit receives the ashes and prepares to perform the immersion on your behalf as your representative.

4. Immersion at Haridwar

On the chosen day the pandit takes sankalp in the departed's name and gotra and immerses the ashes in the holy Ganga at Haridwar as per Vedic procedure.

5. Photos & video proof

The immersion is recorded; high-resolution photos and video are shared with you for complete transparency, with the sankalp clearly audible.

6. Certificate

You receive a certificate confirming the Asthi Visarjan was performed for your departed loved one at Haridwar.

Details to keep ready

Have these ready so the sankalp can be made correctly. The booking form asks only for the essentials.

  • Full name and gotra of the departed soul.

  • Your name and your relation to the departed (on whose behalf the immersion is performed).

  • The date of death, if known.

  • How the ashes will reach Haridwar — by courier to the address we provide, or by handing them to our collection point.

Why Haridwar?

Haridwar, where the Ganga enters the plains, is among the holiest places to perform ancestral rites. Immersing the ashes here is believed to bring peace (moksha) to departed souls and blessings to the family.

Frequently asked questions
Is an immersion performed on my behalf valid?

Yes. When the sankalp is taken in the departed's name and gotra and the ashes are immersed in the Ganga with the proper Vedic procedure, the rite is complete and its merit is yours — a pandit may act as your representative.

Do I need to send the ashes?

Yes. Asthi Visarjan is the immersion of the physical ashes, so the asthi must reach Haridwar. After booking we share our address and safe-packing guidance; you can courier the ashes or hand them to our collection point.

Will I get proof of the immersion?

Yes. Photos and video of the immersion are shared with you, with the sankalp naming the departed clearly audible, along with a certificate.

Should I follow anything at home?

Nothing is required, as the rite is performed here. If you wish, you may keep a simple, sattvic day at home and offer food to a cow in the departed's memory.
