Preparing Your Home for a Puja

Preparing Your Home for a Puja

A puja does not demand an elaborate setup — it asks for a clean, quiet space and a sincere heart. Begin by tidying the area where the ritual will take place and wiping down your altar or a small table you will use in its place.

Gather the basics in advance: a lamp or diya, incense, a small bell, flowers, a little rice and water, and any prasad you wish to offer. Having these ready means you can stay present during the ritual rather than searching for items midway.

Bathe and wear clean, comfortable clothes, and switch your phone to silent. If others in the household are joining, invite them to settle a few minutes early so everyone begins together.

When you book a guided puja with Shanti Mantra, the pandit will share a short list of what to keep ready for your specific ritual — so nothing is left to the last minute and your focus stays where it belongs.
