The Four Major Lines in Palmistry

This is a general introduction to palmistry's four major lines — not a reading of your own palm, which is best done in person by a practised reader.

The heart line, nearest the fingers, is traditionally read for matters of emotion and relationships. The head line, running below it, is associated with thought and decision-making. The life line, curving around the base of the thumb, speaks to vitality and life's major changes rather than its length. The fate line, when present, runs vertically and is linked to career and life direction.

Palmistry is read holistically — the depth, length and intersections of these lines together, not any single line in isolation — which is why a proper reading is done hand-in-hand with a practitioner rather than from a description alone.
